Safaricom has added 8 more banks to the list of banks that will enable businesses which use the service Lipa Na M-pesa to transfer funds from their tills to their bank accounts in real time. This they can do any day of the week.
This developments are in line with M-Pesa’s core mandate of providing relevant everyday services and products to customers. The banks that have been added to the platform are:
- KCB
- Equity Bank
- Jamii Bora Bank
- Chase Bank
- Co-operative Bank
- Diamond Trust Bank
- UBA
- Consolidated Bank
The banks that were already offering this service are Standard Chartered and NIC which started in July.
Lipa Na Mpesa merchants are not limited to the number of transactions they can make in a day, and they can move anything from Kshs.50 to Kshs.50 Million.
