There is no denying the growth of photography in Kenya. Brilliant minds are showcasing different ares of our country through photography and selling it for the beauty that it is. Photographers are telling the Kenyan story and they’re telling it well. We can sit in our offices and admire our landscape, our people, our streets and so much more.
In recognition and celebration of these brilliant photographers, the Photographers Association of Kenya, together with PAWA 254 has launched the 3rd edition of the Kenya Photography Awards. The aim of the awards is to recognize talent, skill and hard work among both rising and professional photographers in Kenya.
Photographers will need to submit their entries into the Photography Awards site between 24th March and 30th April 2016. Photographers both young and old, amateur and professional, upcoming and established, are encouraged to submit photos into the competition.

This years awards are very timely in the light of rising harassment of street photographers. I hope and believe that through initiatives such as this, photographers will be recognized well enough, and Government will wake up to the fact that photography is not a crime.
