P&G Nominated As The East Africa Employer Of Choice

After an extensive search, Procter & Gamble has been selected the East Africa Employer of Choice. The search involved other corporate heavyweights like Ethiopian Airlines, Safaricom, Coca Cola, World Bank, Unilever, Lafarge Deloitte, Mastercard, Oracle, Tullow, and Microsoft. It was conducted using confidential interviews with professionals from different backgrounds throughout the region.

Procter & Gamble Company was nominated in 5 categories:

  • Women’s employer of choice
  • Reward employer of choice
  • Development employer of choice
  • Local attractiveness employer of choice
  • Overall East Africa employer of choice

The survey involved organizations from public sector, non-profit as well as private sector. The criteria used was such as performance recognition and remuneration, work policies such as leave for childbirth, educational opportunities, mentorship programs, job satisfaction among employees, learning and development atmosphere, relationship with supervisors, leadership and inclusion among others.

As a company we place great importance in ensuring that our employees are not only engaged but are also satisfied at work. For example we recently extended our maternity leave to be 4 months which has been a boost to employees’ career productivity especially the young mothers who face challenges in balancing their career and family life,” says Irene Mwathi, P&G’s Communications Manager.

The Award ceremony for P&G and other recognized companies will be held on September 2016.
