Safaricom Reduces Roaming Charges

Safaricom roaming charges have come down both for calls and data after negotiations between Safaricom and other global networks. Roaming charges are coming down upto 99% for upwards of 200 networks globally.

As an example of the drop in rates, Safaricom subscribers roaming on China Mobile will now pay Kshs.50 to call home, and Kshs.10 per minute to make calls within China. This is down from Shs.360 and Shs.130 respectively. Data pricing will fall to Sh14 per MB while roaming on China Mobile and China Unicom, down from the previous rate of Sh1,900.
