Safaricom 4G has been around for some time now but in select areas. Today Safaricom launched expanded 4G which will now cover seven cities in the country. 4G will now be available in Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisii, Meru, Nakuru and Kisumu.
Safaricom was the first telco to roll out mobile data in the country. That was in 2003 when they rolled out 2G. It was also the first to launch 3G 5 years later.
