Home-Remedies-For-Acne

Acne can be a real pain. It can be the reason why you turn down that date with that man you have been dying to meet. It could make you live like a vampire, staying indoors all day and only coming out when darkness sets in. The only difference IS that while vampires hide from sunlight, you’d be hiding from humans, afraid to be judged or looked at with pity. Acne shatters your sense of self worth and picks at your self-esteem, making you afraid to show your face anywhere. See, there’s something about humans that turn them into all-knowing experts when they run into certain situations, or in this case, for specificity, an acne case. The minute they press the launch somewhere in their brains, you regret ever leaving the house, or even giving them the time of day. They start to tell you of all the things you are doing wrong, and all the right ways you should do all the things you are doing wrong, all the while touching their flawless faces, as if to drive the point home.

The good news, no, the great news is that acne can be cured. Yes, the scars and the dark spots can actually disappear, and no, you do not need to have the Donald Trump kind of money for that. Today, we look at five simple and very cost-effective ways you can actually use to reduce and eventually clear acne. I’m not promising microwave results, just better facial skin with time.

Raw Tomatoes

Tomatoes possess antioxidant qualities that could prevent skin damage. They also have some level of acidity that dry up patches of acne when applied to the skin. They tighten the pores that leak oil causing acne on your skin, therefore slowing pimple breakouts.

Requirements

  • 1 raw tomato
  • 1 tablespoon of Brown sugar
  • Warm water

Cut tomato into half. Sprinkle brown sugar on one half. Gently scrub onto your face for five minutes. Let it sit for another fifteen, then wash off with warm water. Do this twice a day for effective results.

Lemon Juice

I cannot even list down half of the benefits that lemon has on the female body, from skin, to nails, to hair. Let’s focus on the skin for today though. Lemons contain Vitamin C which is good for all types of skin. The acidity in them help exfoliate the skin, and to naturally lighten dark spots on your skin overtime.

Requirements

  • Freshly squeezed natural lemon juice
  • Cotton swab (optional)
  • Warm water.

Using the cotton swab or the tips of your fingers, gently rub the lemon juice onto your face for a few minutes. If you have extra sensitive skin add a drop or two of water in the lemon juice before you use it on your face. You might feel a slight stinging, which is very normal. Let it sit for as long as you wish, then rinse off with warm water. You could even use it before bed, as long as you remember to rinse it off before you step out into the sunlight. Lemon and the sun don’t augur well.

Steam your face regularly.

Steaming opens up your skin pores and unclogs those that are clogged up resulting into pimples. It allows for better circulation of blood, clearing all the impurities on your facial skin.

Requirements

  • Boiling water
  • A large and preferably heavy towel.
  • A bowl.

Put the boiling water in the bowl, place your head just above the bowl and drape the towel over your head, ensuring that just as little as possible of the steam escapes. Uncover after about ten minutes and part yourself dry. Repeat as many times as you desire.

Egg Whites

The good thing with these is that you need not use an entire egg just on your face. You can relax now, ye lovers of eggs. Just scoop the remnants of the white on the shell with your fingers after you have poured out the eggs you want to cook. Dub some of that on the affected areas and let it sit for as long as desired.

Avocado+Honey

The funny thing about Avocado is that it is so rich in oils yet it contains so many nutrients that can help reduce acne. Honey, well, honey is the kitchen’s penicillin. It is good for anything and everything.

Requirements.

  • 1 avocado or half depending on size
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • warm water

Rinse your face and pat dry with a towel. Mix avocado and honey into a paste and then apply on your face. Leave for about 20 minutes then wash off.

Well, there you have it. And the plus side? You could actually combine two or more of them and use them together. For instance you could use lemon then follow with the egg white, or add a few drops of lemon to the avocado and honey paste. You could also steam your face and then use any of the mentioned remedies. Even those that do not suffer from acne can use these on themselves for clearer skin.

And now that you know, go ye and make thy faces flawless!
