Get A Data Bundle For Just Ksh10 From Safaricom To Use On YouTube

At the end of April when Safaricom was announcing its full year results, the telco also announced a partnership with Google to enable customers to be able to buy a 4G smartphone at friendly installments of just 20 bob a day. With that partnership, people who are still using 2G phones will be able to upgrade to 4G and enjoy fast internet speeds to keep up with changes in connectivity.

Today in yet another partnership with Google, Safaricom has announced plans to introduce a 10/- data bundle for customers to access YouTube. This is a very welcome development because if we are being honest, most people are afraid to hop onto YouTube using their data bundles because of the rather expensive nature of watching video on the internet.

With the new offer though, Safaricom users will now be able to keep up with the huge variety of content that is to be found on YouTube. Sports, entertainment, news, and education will now be cheaper to watch and particularly helpful in these days of restricted movement and social distancing. With as little as 10 shillings, customers can now learn a new skill, attend virtual concerts or keep up with their favorite local content without leaving their homes without struggling with higher cost of data.

Since Safaricom 4G coverage is quite extensive throughout the country, this promises to be quite workable.

The new daily bundle, which will be free on the first day for first-time subscribers, will offer 80MBs for use on YouTube, which is equivalent to up to 30 minutes of standard definition streaming and up to an hour of low definition streaming. The bundle will be available for 90 days from 15th May 2020 to 13th August 2020.

Customers can access the YouTube bundle by dialling *544#.
