Equity Afia, the medical franchise of Equity Group Foundation (EGF), has expanded its national footprint to 33 fully fledged outpatient medical centres. This year, a total of 22 new clinics have been established, signifying EGF’s commitment to offer increased access to quality healthcare, in line with the Government’s Big Four agenda to offer affordable healthcare for all.
All Equity Afia medical centres offer comprehensive outpatient care, specialised medical care as well act as wellness centres for all Kenyans.
“The Equity Afia medical centres provide multiple services under one roof including paediatrics, family medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics, dental and optical services among others. The facilities also act as wellness centres where Kenyans can get nutritional and lifestyle advise as well as enjoy access to consultants for their regular medical check-ups and examinations.” added Mr. Mbindu.
Commenting during the official opening of Equity Afia Upperhill clinic at KMA Centre, KMA CEO who is also the Medical Officer In-charge of the clinic said, “As an ELP alumni I am delighted to be part of Equity Group Foundation’s efforts to better Kenya’s healthcare system. We hope to promote a positive health seeking behaviour amongst Kenyans by offering easily accessible healthcare services offered at affordable rates.”
Equity Afia is an initiative under the Equity Group Foundation that is using franchising principles to train and monitor a network of medical entrepreneurs, who are qualified alumni of the Equity Leaders Program (ELP). The main goal is to ensure the sustained improvement of the health and well-being of Kenyans by increasing access to and utilization of quality, affordable and standardized healthcare.
Equity Afia model of clinics are run by franchise entrepreneurs who double up as Medical Officer- In-Charges and have employed close to 500 professionals in the fields of nursing, pharmaceutical services, dental, optical, laboratory services and front office support staff contributing to employment creation in Kenya.
