The Tecno Camon 17 Is Here

The Tecno Camon 17 is with us and this time, the company is ushering in the device by having at the look at the selfie phenomenon. And who better to discuss selfies and even make a documentary about them than Tecno Camon who have always been photo forward.

Event attendees (virtual) were treated to a documentary that gets into the factors that have brought about the rise of the selfie over the years, especially with the young generation. At launch, Tecno has given the generation the assurance that they will always make gadgets that meet their social needs as young people. The documentary is titled ‘Rise of the Selfie’.

Hollywood actor Chris Evans, TECNO’s newest brand ambassador, is featured saying, “You might want a picture that is vivid and full of emotion or you might want something simple,” but what makes it a good image is because it is “so individual”. This aligns with a cause TECNO has always been championing: a smartphone is not about the brand, but about the consumer himself.

It is not surprising that Tecno has decided to take on the selfie as a major launch pad for the new phone.  Selfies have since taken the world by storm and selfie photography is no longer in the back burner. If you look at the progression of phones over the years, the front camera is getting more attention as we move along into new launches. And selfies are not stopping there. In the future we are going to see more and more innovations around them as people strive to make the best of themselves in photographs.

Selfies and self videos as an important medium of self-expression is taking strong root among the young digital savvy populations. This is both for individuals and groups.

The film feature experts Thomas Curran, Professor of Psychology, Eugenie Shinkle, Reader in Photography and Lucy Hedges, Tech Journalist in Photography, to share their valuable insights. They introduced the audience to the less heard beginnings of the selfie. This gave the audience an understanding of this generation’s habits and why the Tecno Camon 17 is so well-suited for its users.

In the film, Sara Johansen, Fashion Model, illustrated how selfies are a game-changer for people who are not celebrities to become influencers themselves. She poses with the TECNO CAMON 17 in the documentary, which she claimed allows users to control their own images.

We all have selfie scenarios. Taking photos for social media, to set as profile photos on our twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp and others, and to send to our loved ones. Selfies are now a permanent feature and quite so after the life that Covid 19 has gotten us into. We have to stay home yes, but we can always update our loved ones and send them pics of ourselves.

Selfies are here to stay and aside from them, we can’t wait to see what else the Tecno Camon 17 brings to the table. We’ll be doing a comprehensive review once we have used the gadget.
