The Beauty Of Nokia Smartphone Batteries

Many phone users worry about battery use. I, for one, have become completely paranoid about a dead battery and if ever I get to that red warning for low battery I’m usually at a full level of anxiety. Maybe I’ve attached a bit too much of my being on the phone life but hey! This is 2020 and it is what it is. Besides, I’ve not yet gotten to a dangerous level of manic anxiety so we’re still good. But a dead or dying battery is not something I want to deal with. It is something that could mean a missed opportunity because of a missed phone call or email.

If for whatever reason your phone is an extension of your life as much as mine is and you need to be switched on at all times, you may need to either be near a power point most of the times, have a powerbank with you all the time, or have a phone with a really good battery.

With this last option, Nokia phones have your back. In its new brand proposition, Nokia unveiled its plan to make phones with good battery life from now on. Other promises that the company made are that it would foster trust by having full time secure phones and would build sturdy long lasting phones.

With good battery, users are then able to take advantage of all other Nokia features without worry. With time, users will be able to gauge their phone use and make sure that they’re covered full time, and if they’re not, then it would be by choice and not because the phone let you down.

If however you still struggle to get the most out of your battery, here are 5 tips for you:

Switch off vibration mode

Vibration mode comes in very handy when you are in a meeting, but if it’s not needed switch it off. Research shows that vibration mode uses more battery power than ringtones. The sounds produced by ringtones are just very tiny vibrations in your smartphone’s speaker, but when you phone vibrates, it consumes more power.

Reduce your screen brightness

Dimming your screen will reduce your smartphone’s power consumption. If your screen is brightly lit up every couple of minutes you check your messages or emails, it will drain your battery life.

Shorten screen timeout

This is something we often don’t pay attention to. Once we are done using the phone, we usually tend to keep it aside without realizing that the screen remains lit after you finish interacting with it. Some of us do not have the habit of ‘locking’ the phone after we are done, hence keeping the timeout duration short will ensure that the phone doesn’t waste power when you’re not using it.

Kill all unnecessary apps

We often open one app after the other and do not bother to close them. They end up running in the background and this is one of the main reasons why battery life gets drained so quickly. So, as often as possible, shut down the apps that you don’t use.

Disable GPS or Location setting

Your smartphone usually has a GPS unit that sends and receives signals to and from satellites to determine your exact location. We use this feature to find places near us or to check travel distance. Apps use them too, so once you are done using location-based apps, close it or disable the feature – you will see a difference in the battery life.

Beside doing all these, remember to always use the right battery.
