KBL Launches Senator Keg Distributor Facility In Murang’a County

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), through its beer brand, Senator Keg Lager, has today opened its 62nd warehouse in Kabati, Murang’a County.

The facility dubbed Bia-Poa Distributor will hold over 10,000 barrels and 2,000 cases of spirits. The facility’s opening is part of the KBL expansion program and a move to grow its distribution network for the Senator brand within the Mount Kenya region.

Speaking at the launch event in Muranga, KBL Managing Director John Musunga said: ‘’We’re thrilled to be opening a new Senator Keg warehouse in Kabati and we are honoured to welcome Bia-Poa to the Senator family. We take our partnership with our distributors very seriously, as we realize our success is attributable to them. The Senator brand prides itself on adding value to all participants in the value chain. In this regard, KBL endeavours to support our partners in every possible way. We are confident that this distributor outlet will have positive outputs for our stakeholders’ ecosystem.’’

Speaking at the official launch, Bia-Poa Managing Director Joel Mwenda said, “we would like to thank KBL for its continuous support over the years as we expand our warehouse to a bigger facility, the launch was a great success and we are looking forward to the next thirty years.”

Mr Musunga revealed that KBL will continue to execute its business strategy to transform illicit beer market zones into commercial markets translating to wealth creation. He noted that the opening of the Senator Warehouse in Kabati is part of the realisation of its strategic intent. 

Senator Keg continues to be the undisputed market leader in the beer segment with a 34% value share, both in sales and volumes. Presently, Senator’s distribution and the retail network has witnessed growth that directly supports over 47,00 farmers.
