The Note 12 VIP – First Design Of It’s Kind From Infinix

Last month, Infinix launched the Note 12 series at a colourful and well attended event at Sarit Center. I’m currently using the Note 12 VIP and I must say that this is the sleekest Infinix I have ever interacted with. I’ve worked with the brand for several years now and I’ve witnessed changes and improvements in design, performance, and innovative technology.

The Infinix Note 12 VIP is the first in the industry to use aerospace grade materials. This has given a noticeably high quality, polished look which is evident on first impression. Aerospace material is tough, giving the phone the advantage of being long lasting and a scratch proof exterior. From the horse’s mouth, “The Note 12 VIP takes its design inspiration from the skylights of a performance car to bring you a smartphone that oozes style, sophistication and superior performance”.

My unit came in Cayenne Grey. It has a matte finish which keeps fingerprint marks away completely and this is one feature I like about any phone I’m using. The device is also minimalistic, with just some subtle branding and a conspicuous but very chic camera casing. The matte finish gives the phone good grip, and the softly rounded corners makes it easy to handle and use.

The camera casing is what stands out most for me. It commands most of the top of the phone, with the right side holding the triple cameras and the right side is imprinted with the VIP branding. This design, combined with the superior materials that the phone is made of gives the device presence and I’m glad to see this in a midrange phone.

Speaking of cameras, we are looking at an impressive 108MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide angle lens and a depth sensor. The camera is also supported by a laser detection auto focus. In line with Infinix recent leaps in night photography, the camera comes with professional night mode photography

At the bottom of the phone is the USB-C charging port, mic, loudspeakers and a port for the 3.5mm jack. On the right is the power button which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner, and volume buttons which are combined into one long button. All these add to the minimalistic look of the phone, and this is a plus for me.  Moreso because the left side has a barely noticeable SIM card and memory card slot. At the top is a mic and additional loudspeakers for well-rounded sound.

The Infinix Note 12 VIP has a screen size of 6.7 which is something everyone will enjoy, with a special mention to gamers. Along with other performance features which we will look at in the review, this screen size is quite an advantage to gamers.

We will be doing an in-depth review in a week or two after we have interacted with the phone some more, in which I’ll look more into:

  • 120W super-fast charger that will do 0 to 100 in under 20 minutes.
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • More on the 108MP camera
  • Helio G69 Ultra gaming processor
  • Extended memory up to 13GB
  • Monster game kit
  • Hands free voice assistant.

Keep it here.
