The Infinix Smart 7 Plus is an affordable smartphone that offers a range of impressive features for its price point. With a large display, long battery life, and decent performance, it is an excellent option for those looking for a budget-friendly phone. In this review, we will take a closer look at the Infinix Smart 7 Plus which I’ve been using for slightly over a week now.
What’s in the box?
The device comes packaged in Infinix’s signature bright green box which has information about the phone. On the box we have battery details, screen size, processor, memory, connection type, cameras, and other quick details that one would need to see as they shop for a phone.
Inside the box we have the phone, a custom-made protective back cover, a charging brick and USB cable, earphones, quick guide and warranty information, earplugs and a SIM ejector tool.
Design and Display
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus has a sleek and stylish design with a 6.6 inch HD+ display that delivers clear and vibrant visuals even in sunlight. It is rather on the heavier side but that is really nothing that would worry me because I get used to new phone features very fast. Within a day of using it the weight was a non-issue.
On the left side of the phone Pin and MicroSD tray, and on the right we have the power button and volume rockers. All the other features are at the bottom of the phone, leaving the top looking nice and clutter free. At the bottom is where Infinix has placed the 3.5mm Jack, the loudspeaker, the charging port and the mic. The back which features a textured design has the camera housing which stands out in stack black, and the Infinix branding.
My unit came in peacock blue but users have other colours to choose from, that is polar black, coastal green, and Iceland white.
Performance and Software
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus is powered by Android 12 and also comes with Infinix’s custom OS, XOS. Combined with 4 GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, we have a pretty good performer for its price. Note that memory is expandable to 256GB via microSD. These features give the user smooth performance in everyday tasks like work, social media, and entertainment. I’ve not yet tested it with more demanding tasks like graphic intense games but I will in the next few days. It should perform within reasonable expectations though.
Camera
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus a 13MP back camera and 5MP front camera and I find these pretty reasonable for an entry level phone. The camera system delivers decent image quality, with good color accuracy and detail in well-lit environments. However, the camera struggles in low-light conditions, resulting in slightly less detailed images. But then again, this is understandable given that the phone is quite fair priced.
Battery Life
One of the standout features of the Infinix Smart 7 Plus is its long battery life. The device is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that can last for up to two days with moderate usage. This is an impressive feat for a budget smartphone, making it an excellent option for those who need a device that can last throughout the day without requiring frequent charging. I’ve comfortably been using my unit for 2 full days for work emails and social media mostly.
Additional Features
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus comes with several additional features that enhance the user experience. These include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual-SIM support. The device also has a dedicated microSD card slot, which allows users to expand their storage.
Conclusion
The Infinix Smart 7 Plus is an excellent budget smartphone that offers a range of impressive features for its price point. With a large display, long battery life, and decent performance, it is an excellent option for those looking for an affordable device that can handle everyday tasks with ease. While the camera system may struggle in low-light conditions, the overall image quality is decent, making it suitable for casual photography. Overall, the Infinix Smart 7 Plus is a solid choice for those looking for a budget-friendly smartphone that doesn’t compromise on quality.
