Over the last few years, Nokia has made a comeback in the tablet market, and we are now looking at its latest offering, the Nokia T10 tab which I’ve been using for some time now for review purposes. Nokia is known for its high-quality products, and the T10 is no exception.
First off, what’s in the box?
The tablet comes in a simple white box with the phone image on it, product information including color, information on warranty and security updates which states 2 years android warranty and 3 years security updates, and quick features like battery life and performance.
Inside the box you’ll find the 8” tab, a customized and branded jelly case protective cover, a charging brick and USB cable, phone literature and the PIN ejector too.
Design and Display:
The Nokia T10 has a sleek and minimalistic design, something I’ve always liked in gadgets. It has an 8” screen which I appreciate as a pretty good size for media consumption. I tend to watch a lot of my Netflix on handheld devices on the go and since I do not always have a tab in hand, I use phones. With a screen this size and a screen resolution of 800×1280, this tab is therefore quite an improvement in my media consumption experience. Oh, and it is Netflix HD certified. These features are further enhanced by a bright clear display and vivid colors and this makes it a pleasure to use when reading or browsing.
At just 375g, the tab is easy to carry around. As mentioned, it comes with a USB cable for charging and data transfer. On the left side is the we have the SIM and MicroSD tray, on the right side we have the volume rockers and interestingly, the power button is at the top of the tab along with the 3.5mm jack and loud speakers. We have other speakers at the bottom along with the mic and charging port.
Battery
This is one of the best features of this phone. It has a befitting 5350mAh non removable battery that for me went upto 2 days without needed to be charged. Considering I was mostly using it for videos, that is quite impressive. I haven’t tried gaming yet but I’m sure that would take more battery resources. I’m an average user for tabs since they’re not my primary phones but for full time users, Nokia promises an all-day battery. It is supported by 10W charging.
Cameras
The Nokia T10 Tab has an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. These specs are not up there but then again this does not strike me as a device for active photography, rather for work. As such, these camera resolutions are quite Ok for the one off photo or for video meetings.
Storage
The tab has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, with microSD card support of upto 512GB. With access to Google Drive for cloud storage, these features are such that even the most ardent hoarder is safe as far as storage is concerned. I’ve not experienced any lagging or glitches with the Nokia T10 tab.
Other features
One feature that is particularly good news for parents is the Google Kids space – an android feature with content for kids where they can access age-appropriate books, apps and videos. Google Kids space recommends quality content for your kid based on the interests they choose. Very thoughtful feature in these days of information overload and we have to be extra careful about what content our children consume online.
Conclusion:
Overall, the Nokia T10 Tab is an impressive tablet for its price point. It offers a lot of features that you’d typically find in more expensive devices. The device is fast, has a long battery life, and a clear display. While the cameras aren’t the best, they’re adequate for everyday use. If you’re in the market for an affordable tablet, then the Nokia T10 Tab is definitely worth considering.
