Communication Authority of Kenya Launches The Sixth Edition Of Kuza Awards

The 6th edition of the Kuza Awards has been launched by the Communications Authority (CA) with the objective of acknowledging and encouraging outstanding broadcasting in Kenya. The awards aim to honor broadcasters who adhere to the Authority’s regulatory standards, and this year’s theme is centered around “Shaping the future of broadcasting towards a creative economy.”

This year the Authority has included a two-day conference where various local and international organizations like Netflix, Meta, and TikTok will hold training for participants and industry players.

“Broadcasting still remains a very powerful tool for influencing and shaping creativity. We invite the public to vote for their favorite TV and Radio broadcaster by sending the word KUZA to 15601 and following the prompts,” said Ezra Chiloba, CA Director General

“You can also vote online via the website provided.  Voting is free of charge and is open till 28th May 2023, we look forward to your participation,” added Mr. Chiloba.

In line with the theme, the People’s Choice Award category, based on consumer feedback, will recognize creativity and innovation in embracing new trends and technology.

The Kuza awards process comprises several activities leading up to the awards gala, beginning with the launch, the people’s choice voting process, the selection of winners, and the awards gala.

The authority has been running this initiative since the year 2017.
