Unboxing the OPPO Find N3 Flip: First Impressions and Early Thoughts

Earlier this month, OPPO launched the Find N3 Series at the Theatre of Digital Arts in Dubai. I’ve since had the pleasure of using the phone for a few days now and will be doing a comprehensive review after interacting with it a bit more. In the meantime though, here are my first impressions of the phone.

Just like its predecessor, The OPPO Find N3 Flip is a stunner right off the box. My piece came in cream, a colour that I fell in love with since I saw it at launch in Dubai. With the uniqueness of flip phones and high-quality finish, it is undoubtedly a premium device and quite the conversation starter. Whether folded or open, it is quite well laid out with only the OPPO branding at the back, and the cover screen and camera casing at the front. Its minimalist design enhances its overall elegance and charm.

What’s in the box?

In the box you’ll find the phone, a 67W charging brick, a USB cable, and a cover. I appreciate the inclusion of this custom-made split protective cover with the OPPO Find N3 Flip. While I typically prefer devices to remain uncovered to showcase their full beauty, I acknowledge the necessity for protection considering various lifestyles and environments that people live and work in.

The phone does not come with earbuds or plugs but it has quite a decent stereo sound from the inbuilt speakers. I pair all my phones with the OPPO Enco Air buds.

As mentioned earlier, I’ll be doing a fuller review covering design, performance, battery longevity and charging, memory and photography among other features. I’m excited about discovering more features and putting them to practice, especially the cameras which come in at 50MP main and 32MP selfie. The cameras are supported by other technologies which I’ll discuss in the review, top among them being the superior Hasselblad sensors.

I’m particularly fascinated by the cover screen. With a 3.26” display, it is a fully functional feature of the phone with operations like quick access to apps and a view finder for the back cameras.  The screen can be customized with an array of pre-installed options like bitmoji, text art, clocks or animated pet emojis which is my screen saver of choice. You can also pick media from your phone gallery. The functions on the cover screen are operatable through swipes, double taps and long presses.

As I continue to interact with the phone and discover more features in my day to day work and lifestyle, keep it here for the review.
