The highly anticipated second edition of the ‘What Women Want’ (WWW) Summit commenced today in Nairobi, drawing the participation of over 3000 women from both local and international spheres. The three-day annual event, joined by East African Breweries PLC (EABL) under the banner of Johnnie Walker’s #SheWalks initiative, seeks to unite women of varied backgrounds to engage in learning, sharing, and networking opportunities.

Delivering the keynote address at the opening session on Friday, EABL Head of Sustainability, Juanita Mramba, underscored the importance of empowering women in all aspects of life, highlighting the pivotal role of corporate organisations in supporting initiatives that nurture an open environment where women can thrive and succeed.

“Empowering women isn’t just a moral imperative, it is also a strategic one. Through our #SheWalks” platform, we firmly believe that by investing in women’s empowerment, we unlock untapped potential, ensure inclusivity, drive economic growth, and foster a more just and prosperous society for everyone,” Ms. Mramba said at the launch of the summit, which will run from Friday March 22nd through to Sunday March 24th.

The #SheWalks” platform partnered with the inaugural WWW Summit in 2023, with a clear objective to inspire inclusion and foster opportunities for women to learn and grow through networking. “SheWalks” embodying Johnnie Walker’s desire to inspire bold, progressive steps, creates spaces for women to discover and unearth their potential.

The WWW Summit, convened by Pink Media, unites a diverse range of supporters with a keen focus on women’s empowerment. This year, attendees will engage in workshops, panel discussions, and networking events centred on vital topics like leadership, entrepreneurship, career advancement, self-care, and achieving work-life balance.

Pink Media Founder and WWW Summit host, Pinky Ghelani, noted:

“Our aim with the WWW Summit is to provide a dynamic platform where women from all walks of life can come together, share experiences, and empower each other to reach new heights. By the end of the summit, attendees left feeling inspired, empowered, and equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to take the next step toward achieving their goals.”

The summit takes place every March to coincide with International Women’s Day, commemorated on March 8th.
