Safaricom Hosts Inaugural SME Expo to Drive Growth and Innovation

Safaricom has today hosted its Inaugural SME Exhibition in Nairobi. The event was graced by the company’s Chief Executive, Peter Ndegwa, the Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Cynthia Kropac amongst other dignitaries and relevant stakeholders.

The Expo, under the theme, “Accelerating MSMEs Growth through Adoption of Technology and Innovation,” showcased available market solutions, fostered connections for scalable projects with a broader impact on both SMEs and the overall business ecosystem, and facilitated discussions on collaborative solutions from various stakeholders.

Through the Grow My Business Platform, various SMEs showcased their innovative solutions and services, while also offering networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, and learning sessions.

According to Safaricom Chief Executive, Peter Ndegwa, the initiative has the potential to significantly complement the company’s efforts towards supporting the growth and development of the MSME sector.

“I would like to reiterate Safaricom’s unwavering commitment to fostering the growth and development of MSMEs across the country. We will work closely with relevant stakeholders to create a conducive environment that supports MSME innovation, entrepreneurship, and competitiveness,” affirmed Ndegwa.

On her part, Cynthia Kropac, Safaricom’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer emphasized Safaricom’s dedication to hosting these gatherings that underscore the Telco’s resolve to drive sustainable growth and innovation.

“We are committed to creating an environment where businesses can thrive and contribute meaningfully to Kenya’s economic and social prosperity. Together, we will continue to elevate our initiatives, ensuring a ripple effect of positive change that benefits all,” she added.

The Safaricom Inaugural Expo, held in Nairobi is a vibrant showcase of innovation and entrepreneurship across Kenya, with most MSME exhibitors emerging as a highlight of the event. Through an array of products and services spanning manufacturing, agribusiness, trade, and service sectors, the SMEs demonstrated exceptional creativity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to local and regional trade.

More than 100 SMEs have participated in the Expo.
