As part of its unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge by Superior Homes Kenya, through Superior Homes Foundation, continues to make a meaningful and lasting impact within the local community. This past weekend, the Foundation visited Thugunui Secondary School in Elementaita, Nakuru County, one of the six schools it actively supports in the region, to donate sanitary pads and provide a mentorship session aimed at empowering students.

During the visit, the team generously provided over 200 packets of sanitary pads, guaranteeing that the girls have access to essential menstrual hygiene products for the next three months. This initiative is part of a broader effort to combat period poverty, a significant issue that often leads to absenteeism among school-going girls. By addressing this challenge, the program aims to foster a more inclusive learning environment, promote gender equality in education, and empower young girls to focus on their studies without unnecessary disruptions. Additionally, it helps boost their self-esteem, personal confidence, and overall well-being, ensuring they have equal opportunities for academic and personal success.

Mr. Mahinda Maina, Principal of Thugunui Secondary School, expressed gratitude, stating, “These donations have significantly reduced absenteeism among our female students and have played a crucial role in helping them complete their studies without unnecessary disruptions.”

Beyond donations, the visit also featured interactive discussions on academic success, personal growth, and career aspirations, offering students valuable insights and encouragement to reach their full potential.

Patrick Njoroge, General Manager at Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge, emphasized the Foundation’s dedication, stating, “As stakeholders, we are deeply invested in the prosperity of our community. By ensuring girls have access to essential feminine hygiene products, we not only support their education but also uphold their dignity and well-being.”

Superior Homes Foundation remains committed to expanding its reach, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring menstrual health is no longer a barrier to education. Currently, the Foundation supports 10,109 girls across 34 schools in Kenya through monthly sanitary pad donations and mentorship programs, ensuring that young girls can pursue their education with confidence and dignity.
