The LG Mirror InstaView Refrigerator has earned global recognition, securing LG Electronics a top spot in the 2024-2025 Consumer Reports reliability evaluation. Ranked second among household and kitchen appliances, this achievement highlights LG’s commitment to delivering high-quality, durable products that enhance consumers’ daily lives worldwide.
The Consumer Reports evaluation, conducted by the largest nonprofit consumer organization in the U.S. with over 6 million members, is considered one of the most trustworthy assessments of product performance and reliability. The rankings are based on consumer satisfaction derived from over 150,000 actual users, and predicted reliability, which assesses the likelihood of product malfunctions and failure rates. These criteria make Consumer Reports an authoritative and respected source for evaluating consumer products.
LG earned impressive scores across a wide range of household appliances, including washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and cooktops. In addition to high satisfaction scores, LG products were also highly ranked for their durability and long-term performance, with low failure rates and excellent predicted reliability compared to many competitors.
In the highly competitive U.S. market, LG Electronics secured a 21.1% market share in 2024, outperforming its competitors. This growth emphasizes the increasing consumer trust and preference for LG products in households.
These results come as good tidings for consumers of LG products in Kenya, who have for decades trusted the company’s innovative, energy-efficient products that enhance their daily lives.

We are proud to be a part of global households and grateful for the support we have received over the years,” said LG’s President for East Africa, Donghun Lee.
The announcement comes as LG unveils its cutting-edge Mirror InstaView Refrigerator to the Kenyan market. This state-of-the-art fridge brings innovation and elegance into Kenyan homes with its unique features and sleek design.
The Mirror InstaView Refrigerator boasts an ingenious mirror interface that allows users to check its contents without opening the door. It is an upgrade from the LG InstaView model, which featured a tinted glass panel. By simply knocking twice on the glass panel, the mirror transforms into a transparent window, enabling users to review their supplies while minimizing cold air loss. Once done, the surface seamlessly reverts to its stylish mirror finish, perfectly complementing any modern kitchen.
The LG Mirror InstaView refrigerator was unveiled at a time when research shows an increase in demand for smart household appliances. The latest consumer data on the segment as reported by Statista indicates that smart home appliances will reach a 5.8% penetration rate across households in the country, by 2029, marking a significant shift from the estimated 2.8% in 2025. As a result, at least 831,700 households will have active smart appliances, with the most sought-after being smart refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, speakers, and air conditioning units.
