Absa Business Club members have embarked on a business delegation to the United States, organized by Absa Bank Kenya in collaboration with Value Connect Consultancy, Delta Airlines, and FMC Travel. The trip, set to take place from March 11 to 21, 2025, aims to help entrepreneurs explore new markets, secure investment opportunities, and establish strategic partnerships in one of the world’s most advanced economies.

The trip is designed to provide business club members with access to markets, mentorship, coaching, and information—key pillars by the Absa Business Club focused on the holistic growth of entrepreneurs. The delegation will gain first-hand exposure to global best practices, participate in direct engagements with potential investors and industry experts, and enjoy tours to leading innovation hubs as they seek to tap into newer markets.

Speaking during the flag-off event, Absa Bank Kenya’s head of SME Banking, Erastus Muthura, reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to empowering businesses to access markets and information, as well as coaching and mentorship.

“As a Bank, we recognise how crucial business trips are for driving growth. That is why we are focused on introducing our business club members to international markets. Our goal is to help entrepreneurs gain valuable insights into market trends in developed nations, setting them up for growth both locally and in other regions,” said Mr. Muthura. Our focus as Absa is to empower SMEs and provide more than just financial assistance to help them scale and thrive.”

The United States is widely recognised for its culture of innovation and robust entrepreneurship, offering substantial opportunities for funding and investment in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Consequently, Kenyan entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to benchmark their practices against established global standards and leading companies, Mr. Muthura said.

The delegation will visit some of the world’s largest retailers in Atlanta, including Chick-fil-A, the largest chain specialising in chicken sandwiches. They will also tour the World Coca-Cola and the Maxwell Leadership Centre. Following this, they will proceed to Orlando to visit Manheim Orlando which has the best selection of local vehicles and services, including inspections, reconditioning, and more, in the auto remarketing space.

Additionally, the team will participate in the John Maxwel conference Day to Grow Event at the World Centre Marriott, providing an opportunity to meet and engage with global industry leaders and experts.
