Earlier in the week, my colleagues and I visited Caetano Kenya offices as the company unveiled their rally branded show cars ahead of the weekend’s WRC Safari Rally where Hyundai will have three cars competing.
Portuguese multinational Caetano is the official representative of Hyundai in Kenya. With 75 years dedicated to industry and the automotive sector, Caetano is represented in 37 countries on three continents with its 7000-plus employees typically helping to achieve sales of more than 100,000 vehicles each year.

Since 2018, Hyundai has been registering a steady growth in Kenya – it was 15% in 2021, 93% in 2022 – and is expected to continue to grow even more in 2023.
Current product offerings include the Hyundai Palisade, Santa Fe, Tucson, Staria and even 100% electric vehicles such as the Kona and Ioniq5.
